Another Podium Domination in the EC 2018, Fehring
The Winners 2018

A remarkable victory by MCD Racing by grabbing the first 3 positions in the European Championship 2018. A well deserved celebration by Team MCD for dominating the podium second time in a row. The Large Scale Off-Road 4WD  Championship was held in Fehring, Austria between the 23th to the 28th of July. MCD Racing Croatian driver Dario Veseli again showed an exceptional performance by winning the title 3 times in a row with the help of his father, Mario Veseli.

The Fehring track is known for being tough and unforgiving due to the big jump and also being tight technical and slippery. No drivers have room for making a mistake. In the beginning of the week heavy rain poured and the truck became muddy. From the third day on and till the end of the race the weather was sunny, the track temperature was high and surface was dry.

With his great skill and racing instinct young German driver Sven Rodewald was the top qualifier. He also set the new track record with 37.075. During the week he was the fastest driver. Sven with his great mechanic father Mathias Rodewald showed a fantastic teamwork. In the final he finished in the 3rd position due to his driving mistake. He had to fight hard to compensate but it was not enough for the title. Young Finnish driver Pekko Iivonen showed a notable performance and managed to start in the pole position. Highly talented Pekko, finished 2nd with the great support of his mechanic father Matti Iivonen. In the final all three drivers put up a magnificent fight for the title till the end. The fight between the trio was worth a respect. It was one of the most magnificent finals ever raced.

We would like to congratulate our finalists Finnish driver Jouini Hiltunen, Turkish driver Alain Sarafyan and German driver Björn Riesebeck.

Short Course Category:
Another victory in the Short Course Category by MCD Racing Turkish driver Orhan Tekkan who succeeded to become the new champion in his very first EC race. Unlucky MCD Racing Croatian driver Victor Bolsec who impressively made almost buggy levels lap times. Unfortunately he had to leave the race due to servo failure in the semi final. Special thanks to our Short Course finalists Bulgarian driver Petrov Damyan, French driver Judicael Gandino and German driver Necdet Yaman.

The MCD Product Report:
Cars:
Throughout the week the cars performed very well without any major mechanical problems. Mainly the Ultimate Chassis were used.
New Differential:
Our new prototype differential was used by our team drivers. It worked flawlessly and provided more steering on and off-power and helped better lap times.
Shocks:
Our Two Way Internal By-Pass Shock contributed significantly by improving handling. It reduced the adjustment times that led directly to performance of our cars. It helped our drivers to find the most suitable setting for the track.
Caster Block:
Our Adjustable Caster Block also helped drivers optimize car settings rapidly according to track.
Tires:
In all categories MCD Tires were used. Around 80% of the Buggy drivers preferred MCD Rally-Xross tires. They used medium compound on dry surface and soft compound in the morning and on wet surface. Our Short Course Drivers used Dirt-Xross tires.

Special thanks to all MCD Racing drivers and fans who put so much effort into coming to Fehring from long distances.
